  7. China supplies nearly 70% of the total bulk drugs and intermediates (raw materials) imported to make medicines in India.
  8. Some 354 drugs and drug ingredients were imported from China in 2017.
  9. Bulk drugs and drug intermediates accounted for $1.5bn or 3% of India’s imports from China.
  10. According to the Trade Promotion Council of India, approximately 85% of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) imported by Indian companies are from China.




Coronavirus and its symptoms
Like other coronaviruses, it has come from animals. Many of those initially infected either worked or frequently shopped in the Huanan seafood wholesale market in the centre of the Chinese city, which also sold life and newly slaughtered animals. Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases.
  1. Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties.
  2. In more severe cases, the infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.
